Industries

Seven industries land under one hub. One duplicate URL collapses. The blog does not move.

A single new hub at /industries gives all seven industry pages a common parent. Until now each lived as a root-level orphan; under /industries, they share authority and link equity, and /markets-we-serve gains a real place to point to.

All seven industry pages migrate from root-level URLs to children of /industries: /industries/drug-delivery-devices, /industries/orthopedic-implants, /industries/medical-vet-diagnostic, /industries/laboratory-rd-consumables, /industries/consumer-plastics, /industries/defense, and /industries/automotive. Each old URL 301s to its new home, executed in step with the matching Google Business Profile listings so local rankings travel with them.

The fifty-six blog posts at /blog/{slug}/ keep their URLs intact; this is where the long-tail traffic lives. The canonical cytometric case study (/cytometric-analysis-molded-component-assembly-for-diagnostic-device) stays put while its duplicate twin (missing the word 'for') 301s into it to reunite the split link equity. Flagship pages like /services and /services/injection-molding do not change.

Four existing pages get fleshed out rather than rebuilt: /markets-we-serve gains industry deep-links once the hub ships, /about/quality grows into a proper ISO 13485 narrative, /about/resources becomes a downloadable resource hub, and /services/engineering adds a DFM-focused section.

Portal Guide
How to read this deliverable

This is the SEO restructure plan for the site, turned into something visual. It has four tabs:

The Plan is the short version of the whole restructure, written as a strategist's note. It opens with the thesis and walks through what is being built, moved, protected, and removed from search. Underlined URLs inside the note are clickable and jump you straight to that page in the Site Hierarchy.

Site Hierarchy shows every page on the new site, grouped into cards. Each page has a colored dot showing what happens to it.

Template Map shows the page layouts (templates) the dev team will build, sorted by how many pages each one renders.

Module Library lists the reusable UI components that go into those templates. This is the tab most relevant to design.

Keep: page stays as-is
Keep + Protect: high-traffic page, do not break its URL or content
Move: page is moving to a new URL (301 redirect from old)
Build New: brand new page that needs to be designed and built
Expand: existing page that needs more content added

Hover or click the small "i" buttons on any page to see its URL, SEO notes, and context.

A template is a page layout. For example, all 14 city pages use the same "City / Service Area" template. The template card lists which pages it renders and which modules it contains.

A module is a reusable UI block (Hero, CTA band, Testimonials, etc.) that appears across multiple templates. Modules are tagged by reuse level:

Heavy (4+ templates): build these first, they show up everywhere
Shared (2-3 templates): moderate reuse
Single (1 template): one-off, lower priority

Start on the Site Hierarchy tab. This is the full inventory of pages on the new site. Click the "i" button on any page to expand it and see the notes Tabatha has added: URL plans, SEO context, and anything specific to that page.

You can also hit Show notes in the toolbar to expand all notes at once if you want to scan through everything.

The Template Map tab shows page layouts and which modules go into each one. Click a module tag to highlight it across all templates.

Use Copy as Markdown on any tab to grab the data for documents, Slack, or Notion.

Stats at the top are clickable. They jump you to a tab or filter the view. "New Pages" filters the hierarchy down to only the pages we're building from scratch. "Blog Posts" scrolls you straight to that group.

The legend dots double as filters. Click "Keep" to see only Keep pages. Click again or hit "Show all" to reset.

Search on the Site Hierarchy tab filters as you type. It searches both page names and the notes attached to them.

Cards with a lot of pages auto-collapse. Look for "Show all X pages" at the bottom of the card.

Big blog cards collapse per category. Blog cards (and any wide card with sub-labels) show the first few posts under each category by default. Hit "Show all X posts" at the bottom to expand the whole list, or click again to collapse it back.

Long titles get cut off with "...". Very long page titles in blog cards truncate to fit the row. Hover the title to see the full text in a tooltip, or click the "i" bubble for the URL and any SEO notes.

On the Template Map, click a module tag (like "Hero") to highlight every template that uses it. Click a template card header to jump to the Module Library filtered to that template's modules.

In the Module Library, click any template name in the "Used in" list to jump back to the Template Map and highlight that template. The left sidebar also filters the module grid by template.

You land on Site Hierarchy by default. The Plan sits next to it in the tab bar, and it is the short version of the whole restructure, written out as a strategist's note. The thesis at the top is the entire strategy in one sentence. Below it, four sections walk through what is being built, moved, protected, and removed from search.

The underlined URLs inside the note are clickable. Tap one and the Site Hierarchy tab opens with the matching page row scrolled into view and flashed briefly in gold, so you can see exactly which page the note is talking about.
